"Paper Tails"

Let me tell you about tonight. I get the kids settled down, read them a story, get them ready for bed, and then I make one horrible mistake. I get distracted and instead of tucking them in and getting their drinks, I momentarily take my attention off of them. That split second apparently is just long enough to allow them to hype each other up and begin running around the house. By the time I catch up to them to try to take control of the situation, Kate announces that they now have "paper tails." Sure enough hanging out the back of the top of their pants is a good six plys of toilet paper that looks just like a tail. Both were proud to turn around a display to me there adorned little rear ends. Hahahahaha. I don't know how I would entertain myself if I didn't have children.

Also, Kate announced to me that she needed some medicine because one time she ate a tootsie roll and it went down into her wrist.

I asked Kate where her boy doll was. She said, "My wrince Charming? Case took my Prince Charming. But he doesn't have a pwincess for him. He wants to marry his backhoe."

Unbirthday Fun

My Cousin Meghan brought her little Presley to my house for some one-year-old pictures. So, we set up a little backdrop (I'm sure you can see the backdrop mess in these pictures) and took some shots. HERE For the last ones, Meghan brought a cute little cake and some balloons so Presley could get some nice messy birthday pictures. So we laid down a shower curtain and expected her little girl to really dig in. She barely stuck her fingers in. So afterwards, my kids got to reap the benefits of eating cake and having a whole bundle of balloons left at our house. They had the greatest time jumping off the chair and trying to snatch the balloon strings out the air. YES I let my children do that. INSIDE. How else are we supposed to get through winter huh? And I was amazed at how well my flash was keeping up with them.

A Chat With The "Power Duy"

The power company paid us a visit last month and of course Case was interested. Thankfully, it was someone in our ward that is so nice and he gave Case a little "tour" of the truck. He showed him what it does and showed him the cool stuff he wanted to know. When he was done, he asked if Case wanted a little souvenuir. He sent him with two big porcelain insulators, or "insud-dators" as Case calls them. They have been all over my house. Case hauled them around like his little babies for a while. I have also found them in random places adorned with flowers and other girls things that Kate thought they should be decorated with. Case also has hidden under blankets in the living room. He had to tell his grandparents about the "Power Duy gabed me tum In-sa-dators." So funny. What a crack-up.

Watching Trains

It's funny how having a little boy makes you notice little things that you have never fully appreciated. Like Backhoes. Tractors. Combines. The breathtaking event of the garbage truck coming Wednesday mornings at 8 am. And the happiness it brings when the garbage man waves at his biggest little fan peering out the window. And The joy of being in a Construction Zone. And I have finally learned the names of equipment because I am corrected by my son if I call it wrong thing. We spent one night parked in our car just watching the train add cars. (I guess that's what you would call it.) And Case was overjoyed. So was Bryan. It's funny how Kate has also picked up on her brother's love for those things and when we are in the car she points them out for him.

New Year's Day

New Year's was very simple for us. Bryan and I and the kids just had milkshakes and we did a countdown for the kids at around 9 or 10 0'clock. They had fun banging pots and pans and counting down. We watched the ball drop on tv when the kids were in bed and it wasn't too impressive. But it was nice to be home with the family after such a busy Christmas.

Reading Scriptures

February 21st 2011

Kate and Case both got little tiny Book of Mormon's for Kate's Bday. Tonight they wanted to read their own and Case was sitting on the floor, running his little fingers over the words "Book of Mormon" and he was saying, "Script....tures..... Script....ures...." It was so cute. Kate corrected him and said, "No Case. The Book of Mormon. It says the Book of Mormon." Case said, "No. No Match." They wouldn't agree so I think we finally changed the subject.

Christmas 2010

We had a great Christmas! We were able to visit both my parents and Bryan's parents and had a Mission Report for Blake in between. Kate wanted a pony puzzle for Christmas and Case wanted a Bob the Builder Puzzle (Idea from his sister.) We had a great time!

Welcome Home Uncle Blake!

My brother Blake spent two years on a mission in the Albequerque, New Mexico Mission. He came home on December 7th. Although the kids could hardly remember him, we had been showing them pictures and they were so excited to see him. It's nice to have the whole family together again.

Christmas Card Pictures

These are the Christmas Pictures that I took for the Christmas Cards that I was not on the ball enough to get mailed this year! I took some to the family I saw and got so busy the two weeks before Christmas that it just didn't happen. However, I appreciated the cards I did get and hopefully next year I will get them out to our friends.

We decided to take a trip to Utah as a family in early December. We don't travel anywhere besides the Grandpa's and Grandma's very often, so this was so fun for us. We were able to visit our good friends Anthony and April and his parents which was so nice and then Bryan's cousin Brad and his wife Kera. Besides having to change our alternator on the trip and a few other setbacks, it was great. We visited a lot of temples and took pictures of them and the kids were so excited to see the "Big Temple" or the Salt Lake Temple. It's been awhile since I was able to walk around and enjoy the Salt Lake Temple, and I just can't believe the beauty of it. It is beautiful from every single angle. I love the little details, from the doorknobs to clouds, suns, moons, and stars carved into it. The missionaries on the grounds were so kind to us and let us go to the top of the church office building to take pictures from up there. The kids loved the elevator and had fun stomping in the snow at the top of the building. I thought they would be a little more impressed with the view but Case was mostly excited that he could see a garbage truck from clear up there. Haha. He has good eyes! I was so excited with the pictures from our trip and loved feeling the peace on the different temple grounds. You can see the pictures of the temples on my Design Blog.

Trip To Grace

We went to visit Grandpa and Grandma Williams' for Thanksgiving and Case got to do his most FAVORITE thing in the world- Ride the tractor with Grandpa Crae. It's so nice to go there and enjoy the outdoors and open spaces.
